Congratulations to Darlington Haughton women who have won the North East Premier League with a 100% record after beating Marke on Wednesday night at the Education Village. Who would have thought that, after taking 5 sets to beat Grangefield in their opening fixture back in October, they would only lose 2 more sets all season while their opponents that night would remain winless? Katie Duncan and Alice Moore won 3 MVP awards each while Laura Hughes and Lauren Kaps each earned one vote. They used 13 players altogether with only 3 playing in every game. Runners up spot is still up for grabs. If Marske win their last 2 games against Marden and Grangefield without losing a set they will finish second on sets difference. Anything less will leave the door open for Coast who play Marden at home on 12th April. Marden, although currently just below Marske and Coast, could have a major say in the final outcome because they have to play both teams.
